Last Great Adventure Of Sir Peter Blake - Edited By Alan Sefton
Edited By Alan Sefton
This large-format hardback documents this last, ill-fated voyage of the late Sir Peter Blake on his polar exploration yacht, Seamaster. Although this a book about the voyage it also pays homage to an extraordinary man. His last journey begins in New Zealand, then defends to 70 degrees South in the icey waters of Antarctica. Black then headed North to the rain forests of the Amazon. After a long 1,800 km journey up the Amazon, Blake was murdered at the mouth of the river. The book is beautifully illustrated with colour images from the ship's photographers, and includes paintings by Lady Pippa Blake who was on board for part of the Amazon section.
