Ecofan

The Caframo Ecofan 812 AirMax is a heat-powered fan designed to circulate the warm air created by a wood-stove operating with normal surface temperatures of between 205°C and 345°C. These fans do not use batteries or mains power and the improved warm air circulation results in greater comfort and less fuel consumption.

  • Generates its own electricity using the heat of the stove.
  • Fan outputs 150 CFM to help circulate warm air throughout the room.
  • Fan speed varies automatically with the stove temperature.
  • Patented technology.
  • Ultra quiet
  • One year warranty
  • The Ecofan 812 generates up to 150 CFM
  • CFM = Cubic Feet of pressure per Minute.
  • Base Dimensions Width 132 x Depth 75 mm (5.25 x 3 Inch)
  • Height from base to top of blade 270 mm (10.75 Inch) excluding handle.

Increased Efficiency:
Warm air is circulated directly into the living area rather than having most of the stoves heat rise immediately to the ceiling, thereby increasing the heating efficiency of your stove.

Unique Blade Design:
The unique anodised gold or nickel coloured blade has been specifically designed to deliver a very broad cross section of gentle air movement instead of a small cone of concentrated air.

Easy Operation:
Ecofans start automatically and adjust speed with the stove's temperature. As the stove heats up the Ecofan runs faster to move more air into the room. As the stove burns down and cools, the Ecofan automatically slows down and stops.

Costs Nothing to Operate:
Ecofans use only the heat from the stove. The Ecofan is the most economical way to efficiently circulate warm air. It does not use any batteries and can be used where there is no electricity.

Ecofans are made from anodised aluminium that will not rust. Bi-metal strips in the base of Ecofans help prevent the fan from overheating. (800 Original design only; the 802 Airplus is no longer fitted with such strips)

SUPERB FOR NARROWBOATS!

It is important to read, and follow, the instructions on the correct placement of the Ecofans to ensure satisfactory long term use and that your stove is working within the temperature range of 'best operation'. We recommend the use of our Stove Thermometers.
Technical Information for the Ecofan™ 802 Series

The Caframo Ecofan™ is a heat powered fan designed to circulate the warm air created by a wood or gas stove. These fans do not use any batteries or mains power.

These fans have a thermoelectric module which acts as a small generator to power the fan's motor. When this generator module experiences a heat differential between its top and bottom surfaces, it pumps out electricity. The base of the fan heats the bottom surface of the module, while the top of the module is kept cooler by the fan's top cooling fins.

The Seebeck Effect

The generator module is a unique semiconductor device that relies upon the Seebeck effect to generate electricity. When two dissimilar semiconductors (p-type and ntype) at the same temperature are connected together they establish a static electric potential difference. With the introduction of a temperature difference heat flows acrossthe joined semiconductors which in turn permits electrons to flow. With the electron flow or current comes the ability to power electrical devices such as the fan's motor.
